Andacht – Weisheit ad absurdum

Ich will auch hinfort mit diesem Volk wunderlich umgehen, aufs Wunderlichste und Seltsamste, dass die Weisheit der Weisen vergehe!

Jesaja 29,14

 

Als ich mich gerade daranmachen wollte, eine Andacht zu diesem Vers aus dem Buch des Propheten Jesaja zu schreiben, erreichte mich ein „Post“ von einer Freundin aus Norddeutschland. Darin stand: „Einige Urvölker hatten die Gewohnheit, bei Pandemien ihre Anführer zu opfern, um die Götter zu besänftigen. In so schwierigen Zeiten sollte man wirklich nichts unversucht lassen.“  – Und über diesen Zeilen sah man ein Bild vom grinsenden Donald Trump. Ich fand das sehr lustig und hab das gleich an meine Freund/innen weiter verschickt. Prompt bekam ich von meinen brasilianischen Freund/innen mehrere Nachrichten: „Wir auch!“, „Bei uns auch!“ Nun ist „Trump-Bashing“ (oder auch „Bolsonaro-Bashing“) hier bei uns in Europa natürlich etwas Einfaches. Und bin ich froh, dass wir hier eine relativ verantwortungsbewusste Regierung haben. Was mir wirklich Sorgen macht, ist, ob das inzwischen vielbeschworene „Nach Corona wird alles anders und besser!“ auch bei uns noch lange Bestand hat? Werden wir ein sozial gerechteres System etablieren? Werden wir unseren Lebensstil den endlichen Ressourcen dieser Erde anpassen? Werden wir lernen, dass es weniger auf äußerlichen Status als vielmehr auf die innere Befindlichkeit ankommt in unserem Leben? Ich bin mir da nicht so sicher. Auch bei uns gibt es noch viele „Weise“, deren Weisheit erst noch ad absurdum gehen muss, bevor es zu wirklichen Veränderungen kommen kann! Die Wirtschaftsweisen verordnen uns nach wie vor eine Form des Wirtschaftens, die auf Egoismus und dem Glauben an das endlose Wirtschaftswachstum gründet. Unser werbungsbefeuerter konsumistischer Lebensstil hat sich bis dato nicht wesentlich verändert. Und unsere innere Weisheit, durch was ist die geprägt?

Wenden wir uns wieder neu der Weisheit Gottes zu, dann wird er uns dabei begleiten, und Veränderungen werden möglich!

Just when I started to think about my devotion, I received a post from a friend from northern Germany including the following words: „In former times some indigenous people had the habit of sacrificing its leaders in a pandemic to appease the gods. In difficult times like these, we should leave no stone unturned.“ And above these words you could see a picture of the smiling Donald Trump. I had to laugh, when I saw this and forwarded it to my friends. Immediately I received several messages from my Brazilian friends: „We, too!“ „Same with us!“ In Europe it’s something simple of course to do Trump-Bashing (or even Bolsonaro-Bashing). I am quite pleased, that we have a reponsible-acting government in Germany. What really makes me worry, is: Many people say „After Corona everything will be different and better.“ Will this endure? The wisdom of the wise men in the USA and in Brazil is obviously not the best one. But how about us? Will we come to a socially just system? Will we adapt our lifestyle to the finite resources of this earth? Is it possible for us to learn, that our internal condition is more important in our lifes than our external status? I am not sure about this. Also with us there are many wise people whose wisdom has to perish before real changes are possible. The wise men of the economy continue to prescribe a way of economic activity which is based on egoism and the faith in endless economic growth. Our consumer-lifestyle has not become really different. And our inner wisdom, what is it shaped by?

Let us turn anew to the wisdom of god, then he will accompany us and changes will be possible!
