Andacht – Mitwachsendes Kleid

Und zieht den neuen Menschen an, wie ein neues Kleid. Denn er ist nach Gottes Bild geschaffen und dadurch fähig zu wahrer Gerechtigkeit und Heiligkeit.

Wenn es wärmer wird und der Sommer uns mit seinen Sonnenstrahlen verwöhnt, holen viele von uns die Sommergraderobe aus dem Winterquartier. Die bange Frage, die sich dann allerdings stellt, lautet: Passt das Kleid vom letzten Jahr noch oder ist das alte T-Shirt nicht langsam wirklich aus der Mode? – Wohl wenige Dinge in unserem Leben sind einem derart schnellen Wandel unterzogen wie der Inhalt unseres Kleiderschranks. Egal ob es um den Wechsel der Mode geht oder eine Veränderung in unserer Konfektionsgröße – Kleidung hat eine sehr kurze Halbwertszeit. Wer Kinder hat, kann davon ein Lied singen.

Ein „Kleidungsstück“ unseres Lebens scheint da aber eine Ausnahme zu machen: das Gewand des Glaubens. Es ist in Struktur und Grundfaser immer gleich, hat aber die Eigenschaft, sich dem Leben anzupassen. Der Glaube wächst mit, ja kann mitwachsen, weil er seinen Ursprung nicht in uns, sondern in Gott selbst hat. Deshalb müssen wir auch keine Angst haben, dass uns die Kleider aus Heiligkeit und Gerechtigkeit ein paar Nummern zu groß sind. Gott sorgt dafür, dass sie sich unserem Leben anpassen. Er traut uns zu, sie zu tragen. Wer sie ausprobiert, wird sehen, dass sie uns stehen!

When it gets warmer and summer pampers us with the sun’s rays, many of us get the summer robes out of their winter quarters. The anxious question that arises is: does the dress from last year still fit or is the old T-shirt really out of fashion? Few things in our lives are subject to such rapid change as the content of our wardrobe. Regardless of whether it’s about changing fashion or a change in our clothing size – clothing has a very short half-life. Those who have children can sing a song about it.

A “piece of clothing” in our life seems to make an exception: the robe of faith. It is always the same in structure and basic fiber, but has the property of adapting to life. Faith grows with, yes can grow with, because it does not originate in us, but in God himself. So we don’t have to be afraid that the clothes of holiness and justice are a few sizes too big for us. God makes sure that they adapt to our lives. He trusts us to carry them. Anyone who tries them will see how beautiful they suit us!
