Andacht – Prinzip Hoffnung

 

Ich glaube, auch wenn ich sage: Ich werde sehr geplagt. Psalm 116,10

 

Gar nicht so leicht, das mit dem Glauben an Gott. Woher die Gewissheit nehmen, dass es Gott wirklich gibt, dass das alles keine Hirngespinste sind? Viele Philosoph/innen haben sich schon darüber den Kopf zerbrochen. Und was ist, wenn ich in einer schwierigen Situation bin, wenn ich mit Krankheit, ernsten Problemen oder existentiellen Bedrohungen zu tun habe? Wie kann ich da noch auf Gott vertrauen? Im Alten Testament zeigt uns die Figur Hiob beispielhaft wie ein Mensch trotz Schicksalsschlägen, Leiden, Anfeindungen und Krankheiten zwar an Gott zweifelt, aber nicht an Gott verzweifelt. Der Zweifel gehört zum Glauben dazu, auch das Klagen. Aber auch das Hoffen, dass der Tod nicht das letzte Wort hat, sondern dass die Kraft der Liebe und der Solidarität stärker ist. Aus diesem Prinzip Hoffnung heraus können wir Gottes Liebe weitergeben an andere und darauf vertrauen, dass Gott auch im Leiden und in der Anfechtung bei uns ist und uns nicht verlässt. Amen

It’s not so easy to believe in God, where does the certainty come from that God really exists, that all this is not just a fantasy? Many philosophers have already racked their brains over this. And what if I am in a difficult situation, if I have to deal with illness, serious problems or existential threats? How can I still trust in God? In the Old Testament the figure of Job shows us in an exemplary way how a man, despite blows of fate, suffering, hostility and illness, doubts about God but does not despair of God. Doubt is part of faith and so is complaining.

But also the hope that death will not have the last word, but that the power of love and solidarity will be stronger. From this principle of hope, we can pass on God’s love to others and trust that God is with us even in suffering and temptation and will not leave us. Amen
