Andacht – Gottes Verheißungen

 

David sprach zu Salomo: Gott der Herr wird die Hand nicht abziehen und dich nicht verlassen, bis du jedes Werk für den Dienst im Hause des Herrn vollendet hast. 1. Chronik 28,20

 

Die Geschichten über David und Salomo im Buch der Chroniken sind spannend wie ein guter Krimi. Wer sich Zeit nimmt und sie über mehrere Kapitel verfolgt, kann sehen, wie Gottes Handeln mit seinem Volk sichtbar wird. Salomo wurde mit dem großen Auftrag betraut, ein Haus Gottes, einen Tempel zu bauen. Sein Vater David dagegen sollte seinem Sohn Gottes Verheißungen zusprechen. So stand dieses Bauvorhaben unter einem besonderen Segen. Der fertige Tempel muss dann auch prächtig gewesen sein. Der Bau geschah in erster Linie, weil Gott bei uns Menschen wohnen möchte, sichtbar und spürbar. Damit „sein Reich komme“, wie wir im Vaterunser immer wieder beten.

In unserem Alltag nehmen wir mal die eine, mal die andere Rolle ein.

Mal ist unsere Fürbitte gefordert für Menschen und ihre Situationen, mal dürfen wir die Arme hochkrempeln und Aufgaben mit Kraft und Engagement verwirklichen.

Beides ist gleichwertig. Immer geht es darum, dass „sein Reich komme“.

Möge auch uns gelingen, dass wir Gottes guten Verheißungen vertrauen und sie uns in unserem Tun neu motivieren.

Then David said to Solomon his son, “Be strong and courageous and do it. Do not be afraid and do not be dismayed, for the Lord God, even my God, is with you. He will not leave you or forsake you, until all the work for the service of the house of the Lord is finished. Chronicles 28:20

 

The stories about David and Solomon in the Book of Chronicles are as exciting as a good thriller. If you take your time and follow them over several chapters, you can see how God’s actions with his people become visible. Solomon was entrusted with the huge task to build a house of God, a temple. His father David, on the other hand, was to attribute God’s promises to his son. So this building project was under a special blessing. The finished temple must have been magnificent. The construction was done primarily because God wants to live with us humans, visibly and perceptibly. So that „his kingdom come“, as we pray again and again in the Lord’s Prayer.

In our everyday life we sometimes take on one role, sometimes another.

Sometimes our intercession is required for people and their situations, sometimes we have to roll up our arms and carry out tasks with strength and commitment.

Both are equally important. It is always about „his kingdom come“.

May we also succeed in trusting God’s good promises and that they motivate us anew in our actions.
