Andacht – Auferstehung mitten im Leben

An Ostern feiern wir die Auferstehung Jesu. Für manche Mitglieder unserer Kirche ist das Thema „Auferstehung“ so ein lästiger Zusatz unseres Glaubens geworden. Sie fühlen sich der Kirche und Jesus verbunden, aber können nicht glauben, dass wir irgendwann alle „in den Himmel kommen“. Wo ist das? Wie geht das? Unvorstellbar!

Für mich persönlich ist der Glaube an die Auferstehung das Zentrum des Glaubens, das, womit alles andere steht und fällt. Die Auferstehung der Toten nach diesem irdischen Leben ist allerdings nur ein Teil dieser Hoffnung. Für mich geschieht Auferstehung auch schon immer mitten in diesem irdischen Leben! Und das hab ich mir nicht selber ausgedacht, sondern das ist an vielen Stellen in der Bibel bezeugt. Ich nenne nur ein Beispiel aus dem Brief des Paulus an die Römer, Kapitel 6,3-4:

„Wisst ihr nicht, dass alle, die wir auf Christus Jesus getauft sind, die sind in seinen Tod getauft? So sind wir ja mit ihm begraben durch die Taufe in den Tod, auf dass, wie Christus auferweckt ist von den Toten durch die Herrlichkeit des Vaters, so auch wir in einem neuen Leben wandeln.“

Ich war jahrelang Pfarrer an der Auferstehungskirche in Bayreuth. Diese Kirche wurde nach dem zweiten Weltkrieg gebaut. Und die Namensgebung sollte eben zum Ausdruck bringen, dass die Menschen Hoffnung haben, nach den dunklen Zeiten des Krieges und der Zerstörung wieder neue und bessere Zeiten erleben zu dürfen.

Und so hoffen wir heute auch auf

• eine Auferstehung aus den dunklen Zeiten des Virus und der Krankheit und des shut down und der Kontaktsperre
• eine Auferstehung aus ungerechten Verhältnissen zwischen arm und reich in unserem eigenen Land , aber auch zwischen Nord und Süd
• eine Auferstehung zu einer gesünderen Lebensweise, die unsere persönlichen Ressourcen schont und eine nachhaltige Entwicklung von Gottes Schöpfung ermöglicht

Ob und wie wir dann „in den Himmel kommen“ können wir dabei getrost Gott überlassen. Er kann und wird das regeln.

Hilf uns, Gott, dass wir aus der Kraft der Auferstehung in einem neuen Leben wandeln, das behutsam mit sich selbst, den nahen und den fernen Nächsten umgeht und die Lebensgrundlagen auch für künftige Generationen erhält! Amen

We celebrate the resurrection of Jesus every Easter. Some members of our church are a bit disturbed with this topic ‘resurrection’. They feel connected with Jesus and our church, but they can’t believe that we will be in heaven  one day. Where is it? How will it happen? Unimaginable!

For me personally believing in resurrection is the centre of faith! Everything else depends on this. In fact the resurrection of our bodies after our death is only part of this hope. For me resurrection is possible even in this earthly life, just now. And that’s not only my thought, you can find it in the bible in many places. I want to mention only one example. It’s from Paul, his letter to the romans, chapter 6, verses 3-4:

“For surely you know this: when we were baptized into union with Christ Jesus, we were baptized into union with his death. By our baptism, then, we were buried with him and shared his death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from death by the glorious power of the Father, so also we might live in a new life.”

I have been Pastor at the Resurrection Church in Bayreuth for years. This church was built after Worldwar II.. And the people chose this name, because they hoped to experience new and better times after the horrible war and all it’s destruction.

In a similar way we hope nowadays for

• a resurrection out of the dark times of the virus and the disease and the shut down and the social distancing
• a resurrection out of unjust conditions between the rich and the poor in our own country but also between the global south and the global north
• a resurrection to a healthier way of life to preserve our personal resources and to make possible a sustainable development of gods creation.

If we ourselves will rise up to heaven one day, we can safely left to god. He will manage!

Help us, god, to live out of the power of the resurrection in a new life that we handle ourselves with care and also the near and the far neighbor and that we can save the Livelihoods for future generations! Amen
